High Level Tack Lifter 2010
& Swing bridge 2016
by Steve Whitson
The plan was to build a traverser with a table lift on it. This would be used to get your loco from your car onto the high level track without having to man handle it across the low level track. Initially there was a removable section you had to put in between the lifter and the high level steaming bay track. This was like this for six years when we decided to make the removeable section into a moving part.

A Swing bridge was added to this in October 2016 with track on it. This saved having to pick up the large removeable section and try and place it in the gap. Now you Just swing this section into place over the low level track. Please see Further down this page to see how it was done.

August 15th 2010 we start the project
March 2011
Final paving slabs being placed around the edge and the lifter being installed. Note the lift out / removeable section of track over the low level track.
